when I first heard about this film, I didn't think I'd like it. But it blew me away. Not only is it well-written, well-acted, and beautifully balanced (between humor and reality) in every way.

This weekend, I saw the Fault in Our Stars. As a bookworm, I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. Unlike many recent releases that claim to be based off of a novel, this movie managed to bring the book alive while not confusing those who haven't read the novel. When I first walked into the theater, I wasn't expecting much. I was upset with some of the casting choices, particularly that Ansel Elgort was playing Augustus Waters. While Ansel does not look the way Augustus was described in the book, I believe his amazing acting made up for not having blue eyes. He made Augustus come to life, from his awkwardly smooth attempts at flirting to his slightly pretentious demeanor. Shailene Woodley made a wonderful Hazel, and together these two actors made this movie amazing. I was worried the chemistry would be off because, at the same time as filming the Fault in Our Stars, they were playing brother and sister in Divergent, another movie. Instead, I saw a tragically funny story that left me in tears.
